Dr. Andrea Cannon, DVM drcannon
Diplomat American College of Veterinary Dermatology

Dr. Andrea Cannon graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School in 1993 and completed her residency in veterinary dermatology at Davis in 1995.  She is board Certified by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.  After her  residency, Dr. Cannon completed a fellowship in human dermatology at the University of Miami and then returned to the Sacramento area to pursue her love of clinical medicine. Dr. Cannon currently sees dermatology cases at Village Oak Veterinary Hospital by appointment.

Dr. Marilyn Koski, DVM DSC_0660_edited_1Specializing in Exotic Animal Medicine and Acupuncture

Dr. Marilyn Koski is a 1992 graduate of U.C.Davis  School of Veterinary Medicine. Her many years of practice experience have  included positions in Hong Kong, Thailand,  Australia and Antarctica.  Locally, she has  practiced in Concord, San Francisco, Davis and most recently Manteca. Since 1999, Dr. Koski has been a faculty  clinician at U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in the Companion Avian and Exotic  Service (CAPE).  As faculty in CAPE, Dr. Koski  provides a wide range of diagnostic, surgical and medical services to client-owned exotic animal species and wildlife. In addition to her exotic animal interests, Dr.Koski completed acupuncture training in 2006, at the Chi Institute in Gainsville, Florida.

Dr. Craig Long, DVMCopy_of_DrLong

Dr. Long, a second generation veterinarian, attended California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, where he concentrated in animal sciences and biology. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University  of California, Davis where he earned a Bachelor of Science  in Veterinary Sciences.  Craig received his Doctor of  Veterinary Medicine degree from UC Davis in 1994. Following veterinary school, Dr. Long completed a  mixed animal internship in medicine and surgery at  the Country Veterinary Clinic in Live Oak, California.   He then completed a 4-year residency program in Radiology  at UC Davis, leading to Board certification and is a  Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology. Dr. Long does ultrasounds and radiology consults at  Village Oak Veterinary Hospital every other Thursday.

Dr.Peter Walsh, DrWalsh
DVM Diplomate American College of Veterinary Surgeons

Dr. Peter Walsh, DVM, DACVS (Surgery) regularly does surgical proceedures at Village Oak Veterinary Hospital. He is a 1994 graduate of Colorado State University's School of Veterinary Medicine. He also has a Masters in Veterinary Science. He completed an internship in small animal surgery and medicine and a surgical residency at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Dr. Walsh joined the faculty at the University of California - Davis where he rotated coverage for all three of the small animal surgical services and ultimately was instrumental in developing and running the small animal surgical oncology service. He is now in private practice and started Veterinary Specialists Group (VSG) which provides both orthopedic and soft tissue surgical service in the Northern California  area. Dr. Walsh is board certified with the  American College of Veterinary Surgeons  and has a particular interest in surgical  oncology and reconstructive surgery.  When not practicing, he enjoys playing ice hockey, and being a dad.

Brian MacKie, D.V.M.a
Diplomate of American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in the specialty of Cardiology

Dr. Brian MacKie earned his DVM at Washington State University,graduating in 2005. Following graduation he completed a one year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Sacramento Animal  Medical Group in Sacramento, California. After the short time in Sacramento, he moved to the University of Wisconsin in Madison where, from 2006-2009, he completed his residency training in Cardiology. During his time there, Dr. MacKie helped implement the use of the Amplatz Canine Ductal Occluder at the University of Wisconsin, authored a paper on the use of an implantable ECG  monitor for the evaluation of syncope in dogs, and assisted in prospective research on  pulmonary hypertension and cardiac biomarkers.  In July 2009, Dr MacKie successfully completed all of the requirements for board certification  and is now a Diplomate of American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in the specialty of Cardiology.
